Kevin Burdock Blog: Very exciting. Very new.

Quantum Racing’s Kevin Burdock breaks down how he got into powerboat racing

27 years ago, I joined one of the leading manufacturers of transmissions for Motorsport around the world so I've always been around fast cars, but never really was interested in boats. I've lived in Bourne End, along the River Thames, all my life and never once wanted to even go on a boat.

One day, a couple of years ago, myself and a friend decided to take an RYA Level 2 powerboat course and that was the first time I had ever sat on a boat, apart from the odd ferry to Le Mans.

The two days we spent on the river totally changed my life. It’s the most relaxing and peaceful thing I had ever done and from that point on, I just wanted own my own boat!

Always having had a burning passion to race, I couldn't help but wondered if an opportunity ever existed for me to race a power boat.

Vin, along with his P1 Panther, will be in Gosport on Tuesday 7th July. Make sure you drop by before he begins to get ready for the weekend's races.
