The inaugural AquaX World Championships is set to be hosted in Key West on December 9th and 10th with the series’ best riders from around the world coming together to line-up for what is set to be an outstanding display of racing.
While AquaX will be bringing elite jet ski racing to the area for the first time, Key West does host the Super Boat International World Championships, likened to the Indianapolis 500 for offshore powerboat racing by many, annually at the beginning of November.
The 2017 meeting attracted some of the most competitive racing teams in the world for the 37th edition of the competition.
The 6.2-mile race course on the Gulf side of the island gives drivers the opportunity to get their boats up to speeds of over 150mph while fans can be as close as 50 yards from the action at points around the course.
Competitors must navigate their way through ever-changing conditions as rough and calm waters lay before them during the season-ending meeting.
A variety of classes race over the week-long festival with the standouts being the Superboat and Superboat Unlimited classes, the most powerful boats on display.
With a history of successful spectacles on the water, the 2017 AquaX World Championships is set to be a great occasion for riders and spectators alike.
