Powerboat P1 is the fastest growing marine motorsport series in the world and has eight years’ experience in delivering more than 85 world championship races in 12 different countries.
The business has a long term contract with the sport’s governing body, the Union Internationale Motonautique, (UIM), and a long term commitment to growing and developing the sport of powerboating at all levels.
Powerboat P1 is the largest marine motorsport rights holder in the world and has owned the rights to the Powerboat P1 World Championship since 2003. In late 2009, Powerboat P1 acquired the rights to the new P1 SuperStock Championship which is one of the most accessible and most affordable forms of motorsport today.
P1 SuperStock is based on identical production boats of two classes competing in five Grand Prix of the Sea events each season initially in the UK.
In developing the sport of powerboating at a grass roots level, Powerboat P1 is uniquely establishing P1 SuperStock as a national series of powerboating in up to 12 countries with national and international races. Winning teams will qualify for a biannual world cup tournament as part of a spectacular marine festival.
The Powerboat P1 team has a wealth of experience in marketing, press, logistics and management in MotoGP, World Rally Championship, Formula 1, Volvo Ocean Race, Red Bull Air Race, Land Rover G4 Challenge.
During 2010 Powerboat P1 will expand its marine motorsports platform with the integration of RIB and jet ski racing to complement its existing properties.
