Cornering – with SSTK being a single hull, single engine series it’s not often that races are won on the straights .........the real racing and skill comes into play on the twisties, this is where the drivers are sorted from the recreational speed junkies.
You need a good set of cajones to corner like a boss! As you already know, every lap is different as the ocean is changing all the time. But you need to be able to slide the boat across the surface. Keeping a good fast entry speed, you’ll want to maintain the momentum for a quick exit speed – just like in drift racing hanging out the rear is all part of the game. Throwing your boat into a corner will allow it to dig in, and don’t be surprised if you come to a dead stop.
