CCGP MEDIA DAY A HUGE HIT

The P1 Panthers were under the spotlight yesterday as P1 SuperStock USA hosted the Crystal Coast Grand Prix Media Day.

Local media personalities from across Eastern North Carolina attended the event and witnessed first-hand what the P1 SuperStock Championship has to offer to the United States and across the globe.

The day began with a press conference at 10:00 a.m. where Keri McCann, the CCGP event promoter, Mayor Jones of Morehead City, and Martin Sanborn, P1 Director of North American Operations ,all spoke in front of an enthusiastic crowd of media, local residents, and boat enthusiasts.

Immediately following the press conference, local media that were in attendance and Mayor Jones strapped on P1 lifevests and jumped into a Panther with a proffessional driver.

From there, the boats ran a two-mile mock race course and the media truly got to experience an exhilerating ride in the P1-28SS Panther.

The reaction from the different media personnel was priceless when the boats came in from the water to dock.

Brian North, Fox News of Eastern Carolina Sports Director, said, “It was my first time in one of these speed boats and it was quite interesting, very fast and a lot of adrenaline going out there. It was a neat deal and I am glad we got to do it!”

Mayor Jones of Morehead City also had some exciting comments after his ride in the Panther.

“It was very exhilerating. I made it back safe and sound but I am looking forward to watching the race from a spectator’s perspective because the way they have designed these boats it’s all about skill level, it’s not about one boat being faster than the other because they are all made equally,” said Jones.

On Friday, the boats will be testing along the Bogue Sound with the race action kicking off Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
