The #07 VoomVoom.com crew finished a strong second in the SuperSport Endurance race in Tunisia

Gareth Williams, pilot of the #07 VoomVoom.com SuperSport class boat, reckons it’s only a matter of time before they catch and beat the currently dominant #44 Conam Yachts crew. Reigning SuperSport champion Angelo Tedeschi and pilot Aaron Ciantar took their sixth and seventh wins of the year in the Tunisian Grand Prix of the Sea weekend.

The #07 VoomVoom.com team are currently #44 Conam Yachts closest challengers in the SuperSport championship standings with their Yanmar-powered Hustler hull, but they have been unable to pip the Italian-based squad on the track and now lie 190 points behind Tedeschi and Ciantar in the championship points standings with three double-header events still to go.

“We’ll beat them eventually,” said #07 VoomVoom.com pilot Gareth Williams. “We’ve got everyone on acceleration at the start of the race, but on the long straights the #44 Conam Yachts boat just pulls away. If it hadn’t been for the broken hatch early on in the Sprint race in Tunisia, we would have been much closer for the entire race. We’ve got the potential to start putting a lot of pressure on them.”
