Powerboat P1 has today announced that an additional, shortened Cowes-Peveril-Cowes course and an extended entry deadline have been created for the celebrated Cowes-Torquay-Cowes event on August 23 in order to open up the classic offshore challenge to the wider boating community.

The entry deadline for the historic endurance event, which has been revived for this year, has been extended to noon on Friday July 25 to allow teams more time to enter. Also confirmed is a shortened Cowes-Peveril-Cowes race for smaller teams and boats not wishing to compete the whole, round-trip event.

The Cowes-Peveril-Cowes race is open to any boat longer than 18ft, with crews requiring an RYA license. Entry fee is the same as the V24 class for the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race, but all the same hospitality and entertainment privileges apply.

The Cowes-Peveril-Cowes event provides a great introduction to top-class powerboat racing and a way to be included in the revival of the historic Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race for entries who don’t have the fuel capacity or technical requirements to complete the round trip.
