Powerboat P1 has announced that FedEx Express – the world’s largest express transportation company – has been appointed as the Official Express Services Supplier to the 2008 Powerboat P1 world championship.

Powerboat P1 – one of the fastest growing international sports properties – and FedEx share the same set of values: leadership, teamwork, innovation, technology and a commitment to being the best. As part of the business agreement, FedEx will benefit from recognition as a major service provider with a range of branding, signage, promotional and hospitality opportunities for the 2008 World Championship season.

“We are delighted to be able to provide our services to Powerboat P1 and their partners for this exciting program, and to support their fast growing global expansion,” said Andrew Self, vice president of Marketing and Communications for FedEx Express Europe, Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and Africa. “Our unrivalled air-and-ground network will provide the speed and reliability required to support the Powerboat P1 World Championship.”

Powerboat P1 commercial director Robert Wicks said he was delighted to welcome FedEx on board as an official supplier. “We are pleased that FedEx Express, with its global operation and recognition, has joined the Powerboat P1 operation and that its services will be available not only to ourselves but also to the Powerboat P1 teams, engine and hull manufacturers, local organisers, sponsors and promoters,” he added.
