The #57 Centaurian Yachts team scored third place in the Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea points
#57 Centaurian Yachts team boss and throttleman Nico Huybens celebrated his recent third place in the Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea by winning last weekend’s Belgian Offshore Challenge – a celebration of jet-ski, powerboat and superpowerboat racing – by winning the powerboat class with his 17-year-old son Ziggy.
The double points tally in Spain’s round of the Powerboat P1 championship – and a third-place finish in the overall Grand Prix of the Sea standings for the event – was a massive boon to the Belgian-based team after an up-and-down season with its new Mercury-powered Outerlimits SV40 hull.
The Evolution-class outfit is now ideally placed to make a late challenge for fifth place in the overall standings, although competition is likely to be incredibly tight between #57 Centaurian Yachts and the four other teams – #10 Fantastic 1, #77 Lucas Oil, #66 Cranfields Wine and #69 Honeyparty.com – who are fighting for the place.
