#53 Pignolo throttleman Max Ferrari celebrates his first Evolution-class win in Vigo, Spain
#53 Pignolo team boss and throttleman Max Ferrari has said he’s going to go all out for a pair of wins in this weekend’s season-closing Portuguese Grand Prix of the Sea as he aims to capitalise on his first win in last weekend’s Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea in a late charge to try and take second in the Evolution points standings.
Although this is the Skater Racing Team’s second season in the Powerboat P1 championship, the Italian-based outfit has made great strides towards the front of the pack in its Ilmor-powered Skater hull. After scoring his first career Powerboat P1 victory in Spain, Ferrari has said that he’s now eager for more success.
“Ending the world championship in second position would be great,” Ferrari said this week. “It would be a very important achievement for us in only our second year of Powerboat P1. It would reward all the commitment and passion invested by the team
“We’ll be putting ourselves out to win both the Saturday Sprint race and the Sunday Endurance race in Portugal. My pilot, Francesco Redaeilli and I feel confident about our feeling during the race, and about the performance of our Skater boat. We aspire to the best, and we know that we can obtain it.”
