Fountain Powerboat CEO Reggie Fountain has praised the #99 Fountain Worldwide 1st4boats.com team for their double title success in the Evolution class. Throttleman Craig Wilson and pilot James Sheppard clinched their second consecutive Powerboat P1 title in their Ilmor-powered Fountain in Portimoa, Portugal, last weekend.
The North Carolina-based Fountain firm have long based their design philosophy for pleasure boats on what they learn from racing and speed trials, and former racer Reggie Fountain is one of the pioneering boat builders in the marine industry, being credited with the development of underbody steps, among other achievements.
“We pride ourselves on building the best boats in the world, and we prove that by winning championships and setting speed records,” Fountain said this week. “The win in Europe once again shows how well our boats perform.
“The Fountain Worldwide race boat is the exact same hull that we use on our pleasure versions, and is the same hull that holds the world speed record at 177 miles per hour. We are tremendously proud of the accomplishments of the #99 Fountain Worldwide 1st4boats.com team. They are fierce competitors, and are a key part of our European sales efforts.”
