Powerboat P1 joins party for a cause

Powerboat P1 backed the charity Halloween Extravaganza at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show in Florida

Powerboat P1 joined forces with Shadow Marine, Nikki Style, Haute Living and Showboats International magazines to support the Ft. Lauderdale-based Design Nu firm’s charity Halloween Extravaganza at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show in Florida.

The party – held in conjunction with the largest in-water boat show in the world – played host to an eclectic group of costumed guests, all to raise money and awareness for Facing It Together, a non-profit organization that helps improve the lives of children and adults with craniofacial disorders.

The party was held at the private hangar of Tom Gonzales, owner of Shadow Yachts, and was a perfect example of the types of luxury events in which Design Nu specializes, alongside its design projects for airplanes, yachts, residential interiors and commercial enterprises.

CEO Kimberly Gonzales is passionate about superior craftsmanship and detail, so Powerboat P1 identified and became a sponsor of the event to support the efforts, organization and gain exposure to the top-quality crowd the party attracted.

In attendance were Ian Hawkins of Ilmor Marine Engines and Mark and Craig Wilson of Fountain Worldwide, the South Florida-based international dealers for Fountain Powerboats. A new Fountain Powerboat P1 race boat, on display at the gate, made a grand entrance for party-goers, while a thrill-packed video presentation provided an introduction to the exciting Powerboat P1 World Championship.

Festive custom masks, created by Distractions, provided a Venetian-theme to the event and were enjoyed by the Fountain and Ilmor team. Dancers, décor, music, entertainment and delicious hors d’oeuvres added to the spectacular event and a silent auction also helped raise funds for Facing It Together. 

“We were very pleased and proud to support the Gonzales’ efforts and add to this marvellous event,” said Powerboat P1 chairman Asif Rangoonwala, “Powerboat P1 is action-packed, and we enjoy supporting others who share our goals and marine activities.”
