Guidi is passing on his knowledge to his team-mates
The oldest crew member on the Powerboat P1 circuit is playing his part in the development of the Baia Attolini team.
Renato Guidi, who started powerboating sixteen years ago and won the World Endurance Championship in 2001, is passing on his experience to members of the team.
In Istanbul, Guidi raced in the Endurance event with Stefano Acanfora and Roy Capasso. Guidi replaced Vittorio Foglia Manzillo to help Capasso, who was "baptised" as a pilot in the Turkish Grand Prix of the Sea.
"Despite the lack of experience, we made a good start. We can be really satisfied with Roy's performace bearing in mind it was his first race.
The expectations for the season are high. It is too early to say where we will finish, but we are sure this year will be a good year."
Guidi was delighted with the organisation of the event in Istanbul. "We are also happy because Powerboat P1 has improved a lot terms of hospitality and general organisation. We certainly have nothing to complain about!
“I am also proud of the sportsmanship our team has showed so far this season. We have lent parts to other teams due to the failure of a boat. For example, we lent a propellor to the British team, and they finished before us in the Endurance race! I hope that can be a good example of sportmanship to everyone in Powerboat P1."
