Lassoued looks at Powerboat P1

Abla Lassoued is looking to race in her home round of Powerboat P1 in Tunisia

Versatile Tunisian woman racer Abla Lassoued was an interested spectator at last week’s press conference to mark the launch of the Powerboat P1 Marseille Grand Prix in France.

The rally desert raid competitor – who took part in the 2007 Dakar Rally in North Africa in a Mitsubishi Pajero – finished fifth in the Offshore Powerboat Championship in 2003, and is looking to race in the Tunisian Grand Prix of the Sea in Hammamet on July 11-13.

Lassoued (pictured above with Powerboat P1 CEO Jim O’Toole), juggles her love for speed with her tourism business interests and a passion for sports – she has been heavily involved in running a women’s football club in Tunis. She has yet to confirm her exact plans for Tunisia, but expect more news in the coming weeks…
