FKS DRIVERS TO BE OFFERED POWERBOAT P1 RACE PRIZE

FKS DRIVERS TO BE OFFERED POWERBOAT P1 RACE PRIZE

Four Formula Kart Stars drivers will earn themselves a ride on the high seas
they will never forget thanks to a new partnership between Powerboat P1 and the
Formula One Management backed series.

The four young hopefuls will compete in an end-of-season race training
shoot-out at the powerboat training academy with seven-times world champion and
multiple world record holder Neil Holmes.

All four will receive basic training in one of Holmes' 250 hp powered Evolution RIB
boats capable of 80mph in open water with Holmes selecting the top candidate to go
forward to have full RYA Level II training and base race training.

The prize will culminate in the winner driving P1's brand new purpose-built 28ft long
P1-28SS SuperStock race boat capable of speeds over the waves equivalent to driving at
180mph on the road. The winner will get to time-trial the boat around a course at
one of the P1 SuperStock race weekends this summer.

"We are delighted to announce our partnership with Formula Kart Stars as we look to
build the sport of powerboating by making it  more
accessible and more affordable", said Asif Rangoonwala, Powerboat P1 Chairman.
"Carolynn Hoy joined us for a powerboat experience last April and couldn't believe
how affordable we were and saw a link between the two race series. Formula Kart Stars is the breeding
ground for future Formula One Champions like Lewis Hamilton, so perhaps our
partnership might produce some world class powerboat racers."

P1 SuperStock is based on identical production boats and engines which means the
racing is down to the skill of the two-person team (driver and navigator). This makes
for close, exciting racing with up to 24 teams competing on an ever-changing race
course where the track is literally moving beneath you.
"Having driven one of these boats I cannot begin to describe the sheer adrenalin rush
you get in them," says Formula Kart Stars series director Carolynn Hoy. "We always
try to offer our drivers ‘once in a lifetime' experiences as a reward for their support but
this will truly be something for them to remember forever."
