FOX ECLIPSE COALITION PLANS 300 UPSET
Whilst the P1 SuperStock season has been enjoying its mid-season break, Rose Lores and Martin Colligan from 150 Class rivals Eclipse and Team Fox, took to the unforgiving waters in Cowes at the annual British Powerboat Festival as the pair prepare for their debut in the championship's 300 Class on Sunday.
After scoring a runners-up spot in their "brutal" debut race as the Team Fox Eclipse Coalition, Lores and Colligan are back to put their friendship on the line as the super competitive pair aim to mix it up with the frontrunners in the faster class on Southampton Water.
Lores, who has recently moved down to Stubbington in Hampshire, is extremely excited to race at her ‘home' Grand Prix on Sunday 12 September. She said: "I can't wait for the Southampton Grand Prix of the Sea. The city is steeped in maritime heritage and is widely regarded as the home of British powerboat racing. It's going to be spectacular!"
The force 6, 32mph winds, between Cowes and Poole launched the 27 ft hull, borrowed from fellow powerboat racer Tony Crossley, four metres into the air and despite the Cougar Marine craft being more suited for endurance racing, Colligan praised Lores' skills behind the wheel and didn't rule out a return as navigator at this weekend's Grand Prix of the Sea. So watch this space!
