MOTORSPORT TOUR OPERATOR MAKES A GRAND ENTRANCE

John Wilson and Neil Scarborough have announced a new team sponsor ahead of the Southampton Grand Prix of the Sea this weekend.

The current P1 SuperStock Championship 150 Class frontrunners have secured a deal with top UK motorsport holiday specialists, Grandstand Motor Sports, whose livery will replace the former Premier Cru branding on the 21 ft hull.

Speaking on behalf of Team Grandstand Motor Sports, Coleshill-based pilot Wilson, said the pair is delighted to have the established tour operator on board for the rest of the season. He said: ""We are thrilled to have the support of Grandstand Motor Sports and look forward to building further successes on the back of all the training and hard work we have put into the sport over the past three years.

"Grandstand Motor Sports have a great range of experience in professional motor sports and we believe that their expertise will be a great bonus to the team but also to the sport and the Powerboat P1 Superstock series as well."

Wilson and Scarborough are currently preparing for this year's penultimate Grand Prix of the Sea on the south coast. This season's outstanding P1 SuperStock Championship outfit are in pole position to give their new sponsors an instant return on their investment with the dynamic duo holding a 29-point lead over their closest rivals, Team Eclipse.

Diane Simons, General Manager at Grandstand Motor Sports, said: "Grandstand Motor Sports is delighted to be entering a partnership with current P1 SuperStock Championship leaders, Premier Cru. We are always looking for inventive ways to break into top level motorsports and the sponsorship agreement for the rest of the 2010 season with John and Neil is an extremely exciting one for us."

Simons added: "It is the first time we have entered into the powerboating arena but with the sport's strong links to tourism, hospitality and race experiences, we hope to bring a lot of new eyes to the sport as well as our business."

Team Grandstand Motor Sports will be making its Powerboat P1 SuperStock Championship debut at the Southampton Grand Prix of the Sea on Sunday 12 September.  Listen to P1 Radio on 87.9FM for LIVE race commentary of the action this weekend from 11AM.
