PSP SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW AWAITS POWER INJECTION

As the SuperStock Championship teams powered into Ocean Village Marina on Saturday morning, the marine enthused masses continued to cram their way into the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

With the powerboat racing not due to begin for another 24 hours on Southampton Water, spectators reflected on yesterday’s fantastic opening day at the showpiece maritime event where highlights included a low pass and air display from a single Spitfire, and Welsh vocalist Katherine Jenkins serenading the crowds at the launch of Sunseeker’s latest superyacht.

The 42nd Southampton Boat Show, which runs for 10 days, features a diverse range of vessels with over 350 boats packed into a purpose-built Marina.

Race one on Sunday sees the 150 Class begin the Southampton Grand Prix of the Sea at 11:00. Tune into P1 Radio on 87.9FM for LIVE race commentary.
