PWLLHELI THE COUNTDOWN
As the next round of the P1 SuperStock Championship looms on the horizon, we thought we'd hook you up with some important local information about the town of Pwllheli - In a ‘Rough-Guide' way, but SuperStock stylized.
Pwllheli, the town's name, means saltwater basin and is located in north-western Wales. It has a population of 3,861 that will no doubt swell in size as the P1 SuperStock event takes place over the weekend of 9-11 July.
Today, 80% of the town still speaks Welsh, which is a Celtic language that descends from the sixth century and is one of Europe's oldest living dialectics.
We thought it'd be polite to sort you guys out with some useful phrases to help you blend in with the locals. Here are a few of our essential local lingo phrases.
Bore da (pronounced boh-reh dah) - Good Morning
Tafarn ( pronounced Tav-arn) - Pub
Iechyd da ( pronounced Yeh-chid dah ) - Cheers!
Diolch ( pronounced Dee-olch ) - Thanks
