RECYCLING IN PLYMOUTH

The main site of the P1 SuperStock Plymouth Grand Prix of the Sea event will be located at Plymouth Yacht Haven Marina. The Yacht Havens Group is committed to promoting environmental awareness and good practice in all its marinas. Yacht Havens are currently working with the RYA/ BMF Green Blue to promote environmental awareness to boat owners.

Plymouth Yacht Haven Marina Facilities

The yacht haven marina in Plymouth encourage user of the marina to be environmentally responsible, and therefore they provide the following:

• Facilities ashore for the recycling of glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, cans, oil, oil filters, oily rags, paint & antifouling, batteries, scrap metal and flares. Their aim is to get all marina users to recycle and divert rubbish from landfill.

NATIONAL MARINE AQUARIUM

The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth is UK's largest aquarium. It is located in Sutton Harbour and home to marine animals that you can find across the world's oceans from the shores of Plymouth to the coral reefs of the tropics.
The National Marine Aquarium is a registered charity committed to promoting a sympathetic understanding of the sea through programmes of education, conservation and research.
The National Marine Aquarium has a team of scientists dedicated to carrying out research activity that supports our mission to Drive Marine Conservation through Engagement. A major current project, Blue Space, is investigating the important effects that contact with nature - whether real or "virtual" - has on human health and well-being and, in turn, how this links to conservation attitudes and behaviour. Until now studies have concentrated on different 'green' environments, ranging from gardens and city parks to excursions into the wilderness.
