SOUTHAMPTON READY TO RUMBLE
There have been some epic battles down the years, David Vs Goliath, Hogan vs. The Undertaker, not to mention Alien Vs Predator. Now, P1 SuperStock organisers are planning their own big screen blockbuster at its main event in Southampton on September 12.
A special ‘Race of Champions' will see familiar faces from the former Honda Formula 4-Stroke Association return for one day only, as the likes of Power of Dreams, Claygate, and English Heritage compete in a Battle Royale on Southampton Water in a unique 225 B-Class.
Joining the existing P1 SuperStock 300 Class fleet, the former racers are dusting off the hulls and reviving the racing machines from their current stationary garden ornament status for the showdown at the Southampton Grand Prix of the Sea.
It will be a great chance for many former teams to check out how the 300 Mercury engine performs first-hand. The B-Class will certainly bolster out the starting line-up and should make for interesting racing as well as a welcome return for some old faces. The move from the Honda 225 to the Mercury 300 was all the rage of the pre-season boating forums, but now it's time for the talking to stop as the two classes get to come together in a battle of monster proportions - all scores will be settled, but who will come out victorious?
