Superstock Racer Ali Doubles-up in Cowes with AquaX Debut

P1 SupeStock racer Azam Ali is doubling-up in Cowes this weekend by combining his competitive Jet-Ski debut in the P1 AquaX Championship with his regular commitments in the P1 150 class of the sister powerboat series.

AquaX, the only Jet-Ski category to compete on the sea, is in action this afternoon (Saturday 27 August) at Egypt Point in Cowes while London-based Ali will race his Aztec Racing P1 150 boat in the offshore Cowes-Poole-Cowes spectacular tomorrow (Sunday, 28 August) partnered by Sam Whittle.
In Super Pole qualifying for AquaX this morning, Ali was fifth fastest in the AM 200 Class riding a SeaDoo GTi 130 Jet-Ski. The race action will take place at 13.10pm and 15.20.
Speaking after qualifying he said: "These guys are nuts! It was rougher than I thought, keeping the speed up is hard and I am not totally in control of the ski yet. At the moment it's fast than me! I don't fancy my chances of winning in the races, I am just going to go out and have some fun!"
