You’ll never boat alone

Liverpool is famous for a whole host of cool stuff, the football team (love them or hate them), the page 3 hottie, Daniella Lloyd and who can forget the most famous Liverpudlian brand of all... The Beatles.

Today, Liverpool got another exclusive! The first consignment of US built P1-28SS Panthers arrived in the fantastic Albert Dock area. Liverpool City Councillor Wendy Simon, member of Culture & Tourism, unveiled the boats outside the Maritime Museum to the awaiting fans who were chomping-at-the-bit to get a look at the all new race craft.

“It’s an honour to host the final Powerboat P1 race and it’s wonderful we can incorporate it within the much anticipated return of the Mersey River Festival.” Said Cllr Wendy Simon “ For powerboat enthusiasts to get a first glimpse of the newly launched boats here in action here is a real coup for Liverpool, and is yet another reason for people to visit our World heritage waterfront in September.”

The 2011 series, dubbed The Race to Liverpool with the city hosting the finale in September, is going to be the best to date with the first race kicking off in Jersey 11-12 June. If you love boats, then you’ll be there!
