Taft hoping for silverware

New Wave’s Dave Taft hoping to add to his trophy cabinet

In his debut P1 SuperStock season, Yorkshire racer Dave Taft was awarded the ‘Rookie of the Year’ title. With a full season under his belt, Taft in a new boat, wants to push on and achieve a top three spot at the end of the year.

Taft said: “With our rookies on the year title, I just want to continue the success we had on and off the water, but we have to progress now. I can’t win that title again so if I want to win silverware, I have to finish first, second or third. That’s my goal.”

After some intense close-racing last year, Taft expects another extremely tight season, but has singled out the double-winning team of GD Environmental, James Norvill and Charlie Parsons-Young, as the main threat to Championship glory.

“Everybody from last year are competitive, but our main rivals have to be the GD boys. It was close racing all the way throughout last year. It’s about finding that little edge to get in front of everyone constantly.” concluded Taft.
