Stuart Cureton: ‘We should have really been competing for third place’

Lycamobile driver Stuart Cureton looks back at an eventful 2014

Last year, Stuart Cureton, alongside his wife Sara, endured a disappointing season characterised by unfortunate errors and technical mishaps. Heading into the 2015 season in a new slick Lycamobile Panther powerboat, the pilot with over 200 professional races under his belt, looks to put last year’s mishaps behind him.

Cureton said: “We had a few slips last year. Unfortunately, we should have really been competing for third place, if not for a little navigational error in Hull and then I got thrown out of the boat in Cardiff, which put us out of a couple of races. We lost about 70 points just on mistakes and steering failure in Cardiff.”

The first stop for Team Lycamobile and the P1 UK SuperStock Championship is Scarborough. With its natural amphitheatre and open water, the venue is ideal and rough enough to kick start the 2015 season.
