Rough and tough in the Solent

P1 SuperStock returned to Stokes Bay today with thousands lining the beach to watch the racers battle the punishing conditions

Allam Marine continued their impressive start to the season with a first and second place on the opening day of Round 2 of the P1 SuperStock Championship, but this was matched by Pertemps to leave the two boats neck and neck in the Gosport Grand Prix of the Sea.

The Allam pairing of Arran Scott and Gavin Feldt went into this weekend level on points at the top of the table and drove superbly in the hugely testing conditions. John Wilson in the Pertemps boat showed once again his ability to excel in rough waters and reinforced his title challenge in fine style.

The choppy Solent took its toll on the P1 fleet with only six boats surviving the battering of the opening race.

Equally challenging seas are expected tomorrow when hopefully all eleven boats will compete in the final two races.

Race 1
1. Allam Marine
2. Pertemps
3. Pickfords

Race 2
1. Pertemps
2. Allam Marine
3. New Wave
