Cardiff set to host P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea

P1 returns to Cardiff Bay (Sunday 30th & Monday 31st August) for the Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea, the penultimate round of the AquaX championship

This flagship event is the result of a partnership between the Welsh Government and P1 aimed at promoting Wales at a regional and international level to encourage increased tourism to boost the local economy and to raise the profile of both the host venue of Cardiff and Wales and its many attractions.

Cardiff Bay will host the P1 racing as part of the Cardiff Harbour Festival, offering fantastic family entertainment both on and off the water. The P1 fleet of eleven race boats and more than forty jet skis will serve up two days of free-to-watch action, together with jet ski freestyle displays.

Setting the scene, P1 chief operating officer, Robert Wicks said: “Our racers and riders are all competing for national titles and, with its stadium-like setting, Cardiff Bay provides us with an outstanding race venue. The partnership with the Harbour Festival enables us to deliver a feast of sporting action and family entertainment over the holiday weekend.”
