Flying Panther box smart on day one of the final SuperStock race of the season
Pertemps showed once again that they're king of the surf
The battle for the 2015 title is still wide open, with championship leader Flying Panther extending its lead over Pertemps by two points to go into the final day of the season with an eighteen point lead.
A punishing southerly wind produced a large swell in huge contrast to the last round in Cardiff Bay, and overnight work is underway in the hope that the entire fleet of eleven race boats can take to the start line for tomorrow’s two races.
P1 Chief Operating Officer Robert Wicks said; “It’s been an enthralling day here in Bournemouth with race tactics playing a huge part in proceedings as the teams look to win valuable championship points whilst keeping their boat on the water for the whole weekend of racing.
Tomorrow will be a tense and possibly dramatic climax to a season that has seen a hugely competitive battle for the SuperStock crown over the last four months. Bournemouth seafront will be the place to be tomorrow for local residents and visitors alike to see the winning crew crowned by the Mayor of Bournemouth at the end of the afternoon.”
Tomorrow’s race programme starts at 12.30, with the Pier clifftop and beach providing superb viewing.
