Gavin Feldt (far left) at the finish point on Tower Bridge

On Saturday morning I set off on my bike along with 2 friends to cycle from Humber Bridge in Hull to Tower Bridge in London - 200 miles in 2 days. The weather we endured was horrendous. All 3 riders were riding carbon fibre bikes which are extremely hard to ride in any sort of wind. The weather centre said the wind was gusting from between 20 to 37 miles an hour.
Saturday saw us do the first stage from Hull to Peterborough and the second saw us arrive in London to be greeted by our wives.
Even though I have done a lot of challenges in the past, the ride this weekend has taught me how far you can physically push your body and what it takes mentally to keep going, even though your body is screaming at you to stop and every sinew of muscle wants to give in. It has also shown me that we are all capable of so much more and more often than not we give in too early!
But on this particular route never again, in 2017 I intend to cycle from London to Bruge via Paris in 4 days for 4 charities in the hull area.”
