Updated results from P1 Scottish Grand Prix of the Sea

Updated results for last weekend’s inaugural P1 Scottish Grand Prix of the Sea have been published after race officials were able to review race footage and reverse a decision taken immediately following the event.

During the final race of the weekend race officials determined that boats #926 (Experience Kissimmee) and #69 (Spirit of Inverclyde) had made contact. Racing rules dictate the sport is ‘non-contact’ with the resulting penalty that both boats be disqualified from the final heat of the day on Sunday. With the points deducted the final podium for the weekend had Pertemps Network in first place, Quantum Racing in second and boat E Marine Racing in third place.

However, once race officials had the opportunity to review the race footage it was agreed there was no contact between the boats and a decision has been made to reinstate the points for the two teams initially deemed to be at fault. The revised standings still see Pertemps Network taking the overall win, but with Experience Kissimmee now in second place for the weekend, Quantum Racing in third and local favourites Spirit of Inverclyde moving up to fourth place at their home event. The updated results see E Marine Racing move to fifth place for the weekend but they are third in the overall championship standings having consistently finished every one of this season’s races.
