Amateur photography competition set to make waves

Today we launch our ‘Sea, Snap and Win’ photography competition, which invites amateur photographers to snap their favourite pictures of the sea.

“The sea often inspires us and is something we should value and protect” says Roy Mantle, P1 Marine Foundation Trustee. “We want people to send us images that have a special meaning to them - whether it be marine life, sea views or underwater shots and to share them on social media to raise awareness of the need for marine conservation”.

The competition judges will select the winning entry and will be looking for a photo that is captivating and reflects the uniquely engaging qualities of the sea.

The photo selected by the competition judges will win The Blue Planet DVD box set which is the first ever comprehensive series on the natural history of the world’s oceans narrated by David Attenborough.

Entrants must be a UK resident and an amateur photographer. To enter simply follow @p1marinefoundation on Instagram and submit the photo using the hashtag #P1SeaSnap and tag @p1marinefoundation. If those who want to enter are not on Instagram, they are able to email their images to sabrina@p1marinefoundation.org with the subject ‘Sea, Snap and Win’.

The deadline for entries is 30th September. We look forward to seeing your snaps!
