It’s all change at the top of the World Rankings. Indonesia’s Aero ‘Superman’ Aswar’s consistently strong performances in 2016, which saw him finish runner-up in the Pro Series, sees him replace Canadian Mike ‘Klipper’ Klippenstein in top spot. Aswar’s outstanding performances in Daytona, Sarasota and Ft Lauderdale was enough for him to push past the veteran rider, who failed to reach the same heights as 2015.
2016 Pro Series champion Chris MacClugage also makes his way into the top 5, after winning five consecutive races.
Phil Pope’s consistency in the UK series wasn’t enough for the Brit to hold onto the No. 2 spot, whilst Eric ‘The Eagle’ Francis returned to the form that saw him reach world number one in 2014 to end the season ranked second.
