Torquay to replace Scarborough in UK schedule

The third and final round of the 2017 UK AquaX Championship will be hosted in Torquay on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September after the event was moved from Scarborough.

Greenock hosted the opening round of the series before the best AquaX riders took to the Welsh waters in Milford Haven and now we will see the champion crowned on the south coast of England.

The Devon town is familiar with hosting AquaX racing as they welcomed fans and riders alike during the 2013 and 2014 campaigns which saw strong outings from competitors still vying for points.

Dave Huddleston was emphatic in 2013 as he produced a clean sweep of wins to end the weekend victorious while currently championship leader Joseph Harvey claimed fourth.

A year later Huddleston settled for fourth after missing the third heat, Harvey made a step up onto the podium in third whilst Tim Batte – currently second in the standings – was runner-up to Phil Pope who went on to win one of his three UK championships.

This time around, however, Harvey will be the favourite heading into the weekend. Can any of his chasers close the gap he has opened at the top of the table?
