Hammamet, Tunisia

Getting There

Unfortunately, you can’t fly directly into Hammamet. However, it's a realtively easy drive by hire car, and, even if you're taking public transport, getting to Hammamet from Tunisia’s major international airport is relatively simple.

Flying into Tunis

The majority of European airlines offer flights in and out of Tunis Carthage International Airport, located seven-kilometres north-east of Tunis. If you’re planning on spending some time in Tunis before heading on to Hammamet, either catch a taxi or one of the regular bus services that run in to the city centre. Either way, allow up to 15-30 minutes. All the major car-hire companies also operate out of the airport, and it's a relatively easy drive for the 60 kilometres south along the A1/P1 to Hammamet. Official event partner Tunisair is offering special deals for Powerboat P1 teams travelling to the event.

Transfer from Tunis to Hammamet

While Hammamet doesn’t have an airport, as such, you do have a number of options to get there. Various operators run connections between Tunis and Hammamet, where a taxi or minibus into the city centre will cost you anywhere between 75 and 100 euro – which normally takes around an hour. At around 17 to 20 euro, shuttle buses are much cheaper, but add at least another 30 minutes onto your travel time.
