Marseille, France
Getting There
Marseille is relatively hassle-free city to get in and out of, whether by air or rail, and is the perfect place to explore southern-eastern France’s magnificent Mediterranean coastline.
Flying into Marseille
Most international and European airlines offer regular, daily flights into Marseille Provence Airport, also referred to as Marseille-Marignane. Located 16 miles north-west of Marseille, the airport contains three terminals.
If you’re travelling by car, take the N113 motorway, followed by the A7 into the heart of Marseille. Alternatively, the city centre is a medium-distance taxi ride away, while a shuttle bus also runs from the airport to Marseille St Charles railway, which will take you into the heart of Marseille. All in all, allow 40-50 minutes for your journey.
Other alternatives
Whether you’re starting your trip from mainland Europe or the United Kingdom, travelling by train is an excellent, affordable option. Paris to Marseille, via the TGV railway line, is less than three hours, with around 15 daily services between the cities.
