Getting There

The closest international airport to Portimão is Faro. It’s located 67km north-west of the coastal city and takes around 30-40 minutes to travel between the two by road. Most European airlines offer regular flights in and out of the airport.  

If you’re not in a hire car, your best bet is to take a Shuttle Direct transfer to Portimão. This costs 19 euro, and is nearly half of what the many private operators at the airport charge. Alternatively, other options include catching a bus, train or taxi
