Portimao, Portugal
Where to Eat and Drink
Portimão’s culinary repertoire is as diverse as its vibrant culture. So finding good food in the city isn’t a problem, given its arsenal of restaurants and cafes. As you’d expect, fresh seafood forms the basis of the region’s signature dishes – although meat-based ones are also a local specialty. Cliches aside, locally prepared sardines are a must. What’s more, food is reasonably priced across the board, regardless of quality. Avenida da Rocha in Praia da Rocha should be your starting point if you’re looking for somewhere to drink after dinner. This bustling area has countless bars and nightclubs, and is the heartbeat of the city at night.
